leaving, round 2

I'm pretty sure I've posted before about how awesome my high-school-senior-year posse was. To save the pages and pages of back story, I'll just leave it at this: I couldn't have asked for more. Half of the group was kids I'd known since middle school, and the other half was made of kids I was kinda acquainted with through high school, but somehow, we all ended up on the tennis courts the weekend before school started, and became untied through surviving a damster attack. It turns out, we all had about 80% of our interests in common. It was just the best year ever.

(I'm not in this because I took it... I didn't just steal it from Google or something. But since it's missing both me and RR, I'll supplement...)

So then we all went to college, and it was really rough for some of us more than others. Me, especially. I definitely thought I'd never be able to make friends like that again. But, God, who tends to teach me bittersweetly, allowed some really great kids to come into my life last year, and I feel like I'm not going to feel so alone when I make the trek back to UT again. It's not home, but it's definitely my second home.

Anyways, tonight was our second last night together, and it was just really great to sit in the Cook's den and watch really bad German you tube videos and check what the Rangers score was and make fun of each other (... mostly Cat. But really. "I can feel my pancreas...") When I drove back across the neighborhood to my house, I didn't feel like I'd cry (it probably helps that I was listening to Usher), but I did feel really nostalgic. It's like my entire life in Tyler revolved around those kids, and it's always going to be hard to leave. So if any of y'all are reading this, just know that I love you. True Life: I Will Always Miss Senior Year.

On that note, I've decided that everything is easier the second time around. Everything! And even if it's so killer hard the first time that you're can't-sleep-at-night-afraid to do it again, there's a 90% chance that it'll be a lot better than you remember. And if it isn't exponentially easier, than maybe the third time will be. There's no use fearing the future and what it holds. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing (favorite quote ever, shout out to Hellen Keller, hey gurrr!). So that's my lesson of the day. Just do it.

Also, I feel awkward bringing up curly hair again... But I looked at this picture again tonight, and I decided that if I part my hair like that, it kind of looks like Pam Halpert hair. My face, not so much, but my hair? Jim le gusta? Sí. Por eso, me gusta.
