I know this is a fairly cheesy question, and nobody probably really cares, but I'm going to tell you anyways.
Hands down, Pocahontas. A) America, B) Alan Menken, C) Mel Gibson's voice (let's be real, his weirdness aside, that voice is golden) D) American Indians, E) historical fiction, F) tribal music, G) talking willow tree, etc. I could go on and on and on.
For awhile (AKA sixth grade through graduating from high school) I was a Disney Princess Purist, which meant Mulan and Pocahontas had to use a separate water fountain, if you know what I mean. But really, Mulan and Pocahontas are SO. MUCH. COOLER. than all those other princesses! I mean, Cinderella vs. Pocahontas: no comparison. At all. Mulan vs. Sleeping Beauty: is this a joke? Girls who are not princesses, and don't end up becoming princesses ever, are generally a million times better/cooler than princesses. (Princess Kate, if you're reading this, don't take it wrong. Let's still be friends, ok? You're way cool.)
Anyways, this post is mostly to announce that there are 10 deleted scenes on the second disc in the Pocahontas Tenth Anniversary DVD (shout out to MTrox, you know who you iz and what you didz <3) (also, it was ten years old in 2005. I vaguely remember seeing this movie in the theater... I didn't like the fighting scenes and made my dad take me on a walk in the hallway. Ergo, I am older than this movie, which is almost 20. Yikes.) ANYWAYS, I love finding deleted scenes the way John Smith loves discovering new worlds (he'd seen more than one, if you didn't remember), and these ones were pretty cool. End of story.
3 days left at home, but I'm taking Pocahontas with me. So it'll all be OK.
I am obsessed with your blog. You are hilarious.
