lost, lost, lost...
This is one of Mark and my favorite things to say. Speaking of Mark, look at the kid...
He got to go to Chili's last week, and it was "food heaven." I am not sure how I would survive in Peru. 18 more months until he's back in the land of familiar eats.
Anyways, I lost my to-do list somewhere in between Smith's and now. And I am now hopeless. I know I have done some of the things on today's list, but I know I haven't done all of the things, and now I just want to hit Reset and start over again.
Unfortunately, my first quiz of the semester is tomorrow, and I have no idea where the rivers, plains, bays, mountain ranges, etc. of the European continent are, so I'm screwed/studying until 9:30 AM.
To-Do lists are essential things in my life. I make one for every day and every week and for every research paper and for my job and for shopping and for the weekend and really for any occasion. I have my planner to help me, but usually the lists are made on folded-in-half sheets of paper. Writing on every side. It's a mess, and I have apps to do this for me, but something about having the piece of paper is like having a home base. I like to physically cross things off, and check and see what I did yesterday and what I'll do tomorrow. It's a map to my existence.
AND NOW THE MAP IS LOST. And I'm hungry. And all I want to do is go to bed.
Darn you, Geography 260. Darn you and all of your quizzes.
In other news, Becky and I found out tonight that neither of us own the bath rugs in our bathroom. We both thought they belonged to each other. So when I asked her if I could wash them today, she seemed surprised. And then when she took them out of the drier to put them back on the floor, she asked "Which one goes where?" (there's two) and I said "Ok, silly, didn't you put them down first?" And she was like "No..." and I was like "... but they're yours..." and she was like "... no..." And then we both felt disgusted. Naked strangers have stood on the same rugs as we have. Not OK.
But actually pretty OK. Because I washed them on the day that I moved in, because I thought they looked gross, and now they are clean a second time. I use plenty of soap. It's just weird.
My secret suspicion is that they belong to a ghost that lives in this apartment and uses our bathroom... because they're black, which means they're haunted. Obviously.
