in the past 24 hours i have

Tried to dutch braid my hair into a crown six times unsuccessfully.

Skyped Max the Fat Animal (who had a scary seizure last week, but seems to be recuperating) who still recognizes my voice, and I count myself blessed (especially because if he didn't he might literally kill me when I get home. Max the Terrorist).

Eaten a lot of chocolate chip cookie dough.

Used my new brelly that I bought last week. It was inappropriately expensive for a Boots (chain pharmacy) umbrella, but it is pretty cute, if I do say so myself. And Thank Heavens I have the Adam Lines approval.

Fallen more and more in love with Call the Midwife.

Found two book cradles for a new exhibition in my first go. You have no idea how rewarding this is. Book cradles were my perfect nightmare in February; we have boxes of them, unorganized, that I had to sort through to set up my first display case. To fit a cradle, you have to be aware of spine size and shape, the angle a book will be opened to, and overall width and height. And you can't adjust a cradle--they're made to order in plastic. But it would be insane to have a cradle for every book at the Trust, and at any possible angle you might want to open a book to... That would be at least 128937827384 cradles. So now when they open new exhibitions, someone (me, for the last two months) gets sent downstairs to find a glass slipper for Cinderella. It usually takes me two trips up and down with half a dozen cradles before I find the right one. Not today. NOT TODAY. God Bless Beccy Turner for schooling me so patiently in the Art of Cradles.

Written a four page report on bibliographies with John Worthen's new critical approach to the life of Wordsworth in mind.

Lost a few cool kid points for having fun writing the report, and diagraming a sentence for an exhibition card for personal enjoyment afterwards.

Wished I could go to London.

Took back the wish after looking out of my window for a few minutes.

Secretly kept wishing I could go to London whenever I wanted.

Started packing. Just my carry on, with all the things I have bought for other people, but still...

Decided to look at it as a visit home. I have infinitely too much left to do here.

Fallen even more SUPER crazy in love with precious Baby George.

New Zealand looks good on you, kid.

God Bless You, United Kingdom.
