now + later

Tonight I saw one of my most beautiful friends, and her bestiest friend/fiance. And it reminded me how great a relationship can be, when you are committed to someone that cares more about you than about themselves and vice versa. It helps when you have a lot in common, and when you are both wild about rock climbing/adventures/etc. As I was working on an assignment for my much-execrated online class, I wondered what it would be like to have someone in my life that wanted to climb the senatorial ladder with me at home to support the political ambitions of both him and our male children while our daughters painted pottery in the back garden. Or something like that.

Anyways, here is a true note about a vision (of sorts) that I had the other day:

I have no doubt that this was partly induced by various brainstorms about goals I could make (I have been really interested in bee keeping for the past few years, and I fully intend to own bee boxes someday), and thinking every day about The Tree of Life. I would not recommend that movie to everyone. But it changed my life during a critical set of days when my life needed changing. (I don't think the person who watched it with me will probably see this, but if you do, do you know how important you are to me? Very important. Like... more important than my bridge. Seriously. I hope you see this.)
