Better question: Is what I put on the internet appropriate?
My answer: yes. I'm never not wearing clothes, using profane language, or asking for money.
But there are some nights when I'm not so sure I'm doing social networking right.
Case in point: Instagram.
When people start following my instagram, I usually don't care. But then sometimes people start following my on instagram (like... Christian Bale) and I want them to think I'm not a n00b that only eats dessert and takes fat-face selfees all the time. How on earth would he come to that conclusion? you ask. I answer:
An obsession with my relationship status (that I try to joke about, but I probably just come off as desparate):
My super healthy diet (don't forget all the baked goods):
And worst of all, my face (this is the only one that I haven't deleted out of my photo library... It gets a lot worse):
But then I think: does it matter what CB thinks of me? No. If he thought I was cool he would think I was cool. What if I sent them to Tina Fey? Would she hate me? Survey says no... And I care more about what TF would say, I think.
But some people do not think I am funny. I guess the question is, do those people matter? I probably wouldn't like to hang out with them. But you never know who can see this stuff! And I know I don't always make the best first impressions without the help of social networks...
"I thought you were judging me."
"You looked sad."
"I couldn't tell if you were joking or not."
So end of story: I'm either going to decide tonight to only take instagrams of my friends hiking and inspiration quotes and hope that people think I'm cool, or I'm going to keep taking pictures of the same high-caloric, largely unattractive stuff that I am surrounded by, and that will be that.
